SUMMARY

This upscale area comprises the famous roads of Langsuan, Chidlom, Wittayu, Ploenchit and Ruamrudee, bordering the north side of Lumphini Park.
Around Ploenchit and Chidlom BTS stations you will find a range of high-end office towers, hotels, residences and shopping malls, and some of the largest embassies and ambassador’s residencies (USA, Japan, UK, etc.).

From a real estate point of view, the neighborhood is very popular with diplomats, executives, business travellers and wealthy tourists. It is however a rather quite area, not very exciting after work and during weekends. Although it is very central, hence the convenience for short-term stays, expats will often favor Sukhumvit or Sathorn areas when it comes to finding their long-term accommodation.

Although it is considered more as a business and luxury shopping area than an expat “village”, Wittayu - Ruamrudee remains an excellent option for expats with a high budget and looking for luxury condos or apartments with convenient access to both Sukhumviand Sathorn-Silom. It is also one of Bangkok’s favorite areas for short-term rentals thanks to its very central location and easy access to all the main office areas in town. Numerous expats make it their base upon arrival before finding their long-term home. Very few houses are available in the area.
